Which providers offer content credentials?

If your information can be publicly accessed, it primarily means that transparency is created and others can obtain relevant information about your image on the internet. This has several important aspects:

<li>Transparency and Access to Information: Public availability of information ensures that others can see the details associated with your image. This can be useful for verifying the origin and authenticity of the image, ensuring that all relevant information is accessible to the public.</li>



<li>Public Authorship: When you publish your data and the image itself publicly, the authorship is visible and secured, provided it is your own image. This means your role as the creator of the image is clearly documented and traceable.</li>



<li>Visibility of Secured Data: Public visibility also means that all data you secure with the origo label and that is integrated into the C2PA manifest will be publicly accessible. This data can be read from an information page and directly from the image itself. This includes only the data you explicitly provide to us.</li>

With the origo label, you can securely sign your images and protect your copyright. With just one click, you add important data to your works that can be verified and used by third parties. This effectively prevents manipulation and theft.



Your images and, if you choose, your entire media library on your Mobile are well protected with origo. The use of the C2PA Standard, developed and led by the Mozilla Foundation, Adobe, BBC, and others, ensures security and integrity.

What is the origo label?

To secure authorship, we collect various metadata, which are then manifested and protected by us using the C2PA Standard. This information helps verify the origin and authenticity of the content.



The following metadata is collected, if provided:

What is the C2PA-Standard and what can be secured with it?

In our app, we label images as &#8220;insecure data&#8221; when they either lack EXIF data or have EXIF data that does not match the information embedded in C2PA-labeled or manifested images. EXIF data (Exchangeable Image File Format) are metadata that provide information such as the date, location, camera settings, and other details about an image.



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">When is an image marked as &#8220;insecure data&#8221;?</h4>

<li>No EXIF data present: If an image lacks EXIF data, we cannot provide reliable information about its origin or editing history. Such images are marked as insecure because they may have been altered or manipulated.</li>



<li>Mismatched EXIF data: If an image has EXIF data, but it does not match the data embedded in C2PA-labeled or manifested images, it is also marked as insecure. This discrepancy could indicate potential tampering or unreliable source information.</li>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Why is this important?</h4>



EXIF data can help to verify the authenticity of an image. If they are missing, the image could potentially be manipulated, which is especially concerning in the context of misinformation or deepfakes. Our app makes these uncertainties transparent.

How do I download the app?

Open the App and click on “Create Account.” Enter your email address and create a password. You can also sign in using your Apple ID. If you prefer to create your account at a later time, click on the profile icon at the top left of the App.

On the login page, click &#8220;Forgot Password&#8221; and follow the instructions to reset your password via email.

What is the origo Cloud, and what advantages does the origo Cloud offer me?

&#8220;Do Not Train&#8221; in the C2PA standard is a label indicating that a digital asset must not be used for training artificial intelligence (AI). It protects copyrights by signaling that this content should not be incorporated into AI models without consent.



This label is embedded in the metadata of images, videos, or other digital content. It helps create transparency and prevents the misuse of content in AI training processes. The C2PA standard thus contributes to the protection of intellectual property in an AI-driven world.

What does “Do Not Train” mean and how does it work?

To delete your account, go to the settings and select &#8220;Delete Account.&#8221; Confirm your decision, and your account will be permanently deleted.

We currently distinguish between three types of labels used to mark images:



&#8220;This image contains no secure label&#8221; An image with this label contains no secure information that we can read or process. When we say an image contains no secure label/manifest, it means either the image has no such information, or that the information was removed afterward.



Important: This does not necessarily mean the image is untrustworthy. However, we recommend examining it more closely and, if possible, using images with secure information as an alternative source.



&#8220;Contains a label from&#8230;&#8221; This image has been marked with a label/manifest from an external organization that provides additional information. However, we cannot verify the accuracy of this information. In such cases, you may want to retrieve additional details directly from the label issuer, or if the image follows the C2PA standard, check it at<a href="https://contentcredentials.org/verify"> https://contentcredentials.org/verify</a>.



We conduct a consistency check between the label and the image metadata. If the information does not match or is missing, we will notify you with a warning.



&#8220;Marked with the origo label&#8221; This label is secure and verifiable, as it has been issued by origo. All elements marked with a checkmark have been verified and are traceable by our organization, TrustNXT. We comply with the current C2PA standard for basic information and extend it with additional details that we and our target audience deem relevant.
